The Egyptian Atomic Energy Authority is an institution of excellence devoted for the development and utilization of nuclear science and technology for peace, welfare, safety and security of the Egyptian society.

 
EAEA Strategy

Egypt strategy is based on:

  • Enhancing the use of peaceful applications of atomic energy to serve society and sustainable development in Egypt.
  • Securing the Egyptian environment against radiation hazards.
  • Transparency in all nuclear activities in Egypt.
  • Enhancing  the public awareness of the benefits of the peaceful applications of atomic energy in different fields.
  • Full commitment of all international conventions and agreements:
    • Egypt is one of the pioneer countries committed to the Non – Proliferation Treaty (NPT), Egypt signed NPT in 1968 and ratified the treaty in 1981.
    • Egypt signed the Comprehensive Safeguards agreement in 1982.
    • Egypt signed many agreements with IAEA in different fields such as Radiation Safety - Civil Liability - Early Notification of Radiation Accidents, …etc
